Nature speaks to us through our senses. The conversations of wind and grass, sun dappled water, and chirping birds continuously create the world through sound, movement, and texture. This flow of sensory information can only be experienced here and now, in the body you’re in. You are interfacing with the world in every moment, from the grass between your toes to the air in your lungs.

Learning the language of tarot is stepping into conversation with the universe. While the cards speak through art and symbolism, communicating with tarot will require learning the language of your own spirit. What do Swords and Pentacles represent for you? What were your impressions when you first encountered the Four of Wands? Uncovering these personal meanings will help you interpret the cards intuitively.

I created The Animystic Tarot to be your ally, a being here to celebrate the living world and your life within it. Each card is a doorway back into the enchantment already present in your life. To begin a dialogue with the universe, all you need to do is pick up your deck and ask a question.

Reading tarot is not a one-sided conversation; after the cards have been drawn, it is up to you to integrate the information you’ve received into your life. Effective tarot readings don’t end when you place the cards back in their box—action, or contemplation, will carry the conversation into reality.

When you ask, the universe responds. Your body is fluent in this nonverbal language of the senses, the very same language the cards speak. There is magic waiting to be found in the sensory conversations between your body, spirit, and environment.
