“You’re freaking me out!” the woman exclaimed, as she took a step back.
It happened during my eye appointment two years ago. The assistant was preparing me for the doctor when she asked how much I used my eyes. I explained that I was going over a manuscript word for word that my editor was anticipating. As a result, my eyes felt tired.
She asked what the book was about. Not knowing what kind of response I would get if I told her it was a numerology book, I hesitated for a moment and then said, “It’s about cycles.”
“What kind of cycles?” she asked.
I told her we have nine repeating cycles in our personal lives.
Not to be deterred, she asked “How does that work personally?”
Okay, I told myself, here goes:
“What is your month and day of birth. I don’t need the year.”
She gave me her birthday. I took a few seconds to add simple numbers in my head, and then said, “Something major has ended in your life recently. You’re standing alone, but you’re not necessarily lonely. You realize you have to make important decisions that will affect your life for some time to come. Others may offer you advice but you know you have to make the decisions based up your needs, not theirs.”
There was silence for a moment…
…during which I wondered if I had added wrong. I quickly added her birthday numbers in my head again and came up with the same number cycle…
She took a step back and exclaimed, “You’re freaking me out!! Seriously, you’re freaking me out!”
She then said, “I’d like a copy of that book when it comes out.” She left the room and I didn’t see her again that day.
The book I had been working on was Numerology and Your Future, The Predictive Power of Numbers, 2nd Edition, which has just been published.
In another time, I might have been branded a witch for having some “occult power.”
By the way: occult simply means ‘hidden’.
I know that woman thinks I’m some kind of psychic with weird mental abilities but it was so simple. All I did was add her birthday to the then current year.
If she had known just a few basic rules of numerology, she would have understood that it was time for her to make those major changes in her life. Then perhaps her situation would have been easier or at least predictable, thus saving her some angst.
You can do the same thing with the information in my book. It’s a simple as 1-2-3. Seriously!
First, understand that numerology is the universal language, as old as time itself. In the beginning was the Cosmic Egg, the Zero you might say, which contained all that is, was, and ever will be. From that Egg, an infinitesimal point of pure energy exploded into Light (the Big Bang) which created the Universe through a prescribed set of 9 progressive steps.
To corroborate the fact that numerology is a universal language, in 1974, during the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI), a message was sent from the largest radio telescope at that time toward the globular star cluster M13 some 25,000 light years away. The first line of the message in binary codes was the numbers 1 through 10. Scientists obviously believed that numbers are indeed a universal language!
The orderly progression of the nine numbers results in time and space and life; they are the fundamental laws of nature by which we live.
“The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”
—Mark Twain
One way of finding the ‘why’ of your existence is to apply the universal language of numbers to your birthname and your birthday. You can then lay out your birth chart which shows who you really are and perhaps who you were in past lives, how others see you, the path you chose to walk, and the purpose of your work this lifetime.
Then you can move on to discover the orderly progression of numbers in your personal life.
The secret of success is timing. You can take six healthy tomato seedlings, plant them outdoors in the sunlight in the perfect soil for their needs, water them faithfully, and expect a full bounty in a few months. However if you do this in the month of January in Saskatchewan, Canada…well, you know what will happen.
Your personal numerological cycles reveal your ‘secret of timing’ which will lead to your success.
Armed with this knowledge and with just a few key words for each of those 9 numbers, you can apply this wisdom to your life and to the lives of your loved ones and friends. Then, as I did with the doctor’s assistant, you can anticipate what ‘your season’ will be for the next twelve months.
We use numbers every day to predict the weather, to tell the time, to count our money, and to wish away the minutes while the dentist’s drill is working its magic. (Maybe someone someday will invent a silent drill. Wouldn’t that be wonderful!)
Finally, to let you know something about me. I grew up in that time eons ago before the Internet. As a young child, I asked questions to the point where my family threatened to paint a question mark on my forehead to warn others as I approached.
I remember the thrill in first grade when the strange markings at the bottom of the page finally made sense. I read my first sentence: “See Spot run!” I still remember the thrill that raced up my spine when I realized what power that had unleashed. The fact that I could read opened up new worlds for me.
My most prized possession was the Golden Book Encyclopedia which I then carried with me everywhere. It was filled with colorful illustrations and wondrous knowledge.
My friends, always be open to new ideas.
As Einstein said, “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.”
May your passionate curiosity take you into new worlds of thought.
