Author Bio
Marguerite Porter Davison (1887–1953) was foundational to the American handweaving revival of the twentieth century through her weaving, teaching, research, and scholarship. She self-published A Handweaver’s Pattern Book in 1944.

Caroline Cooley Browne is Marguerite Porter Davison’s granddaughter. Caroline was a founding board member of Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN) and a founder of its fiber arts studio. The team at BARN collaborated with weavers and weaving guilds across the USA to create this revised edition, preserving Davison’s style and voice.​

Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network celebrates and facilitates creativity. BARN’s 25,000-square-foot facility in Bainbridge Island, WA, includes eleven studios and offers classes in weaving and fiber arts, as well as many other disciplines.
